Modifying Pump Reservoir Tank

I wanted to use the 2.8i Capri power steering pump as this the pressure would be matched to the car and rack, I was able to do this with laser cut custom brackets and slight modification to the reservoir tank.
The 2.8i Capri uses a Saginaw power steering pump, which when used on other vehicles often pivot’s on two bolts to adjust the belt tension, but the Capri has a different adjuster and the pump is mounted solid. I wanted it to pivot so with after a closer look I realised that the pump has the hole already tapped (with O-ring seal groove) and just needed a hole drilled in the reservoir tank.

Marking The new Stud Hole

I ground a stud to a point and using a soft clamp I was able to make a small indentation in the tank where I need to drill the hole

All conected up using standard 2.8i hoses and custom brackets.
It now pivots just below the low pressure return pipe, the stud and nuts you can see are the adjuster in a slot.
